Burna Boy makes history, as the first winner of “Best Global Music Album”, at the 63rd edition of the Grammys.

The Nigerian power house, Burna boy bags home the prestigious, “Best Global Music Album” after being nominated for the second time by the recording academy.

The Afro beat sensation in the last edition of the awards lost to Anjelique kudjoe with his “African Giant Album” in this same category, but went back to the studio and gave us some redefining sounds in “Twice As Tall”, which has finally paid off.


Burna Boy won Best Global Music Album for Twice As Tall at the Premiere Ceremony of the 63rd GRAMMY Awards. This marks Burna’s first career GRAMMY win.

He is the first winner of the recently renamed category, formerly known as Best World Music Album. His album bested fellow nominees Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar and Tinariwen
