Covid-19 plot speculation mocked by Bill Gates’ daughter as she gets vaccine

Several online agitators have spread the unhinged and disproven conspiracy theory that Mr Gates is using coronavirus vaccines to micro-chip the population.

The Microsoft co-founder made significant financial contributions towards Covid-19 vaccine research. Ms Gates posted a photo of herself on Instagram shortly after receiving a coronavirus vaccine.

In total around 11 percent of the US population has now received at least one coronavirus jab.

Ms Gates explained she had been given the vaccine because of her involvement with healthcare.

She posted: “I am beyond privileged to receive my first dose of Mrna [vaccine] to teach my cells to amount a protective immune response to this virus.

“As a medical student and aspiring physician, I am grateful it will give me protection and safety for my future practice.

“I’d urge everyone to read more and strongly consider it for yourself and your families when you are provided the option. “The more people who get immunised, the safer our communities are for everyone.”

More than 480,000 Americans have died from coronavirus, more than in any other country. In total the US has confirmed over 27 million cases though the true figure is likely to be significantly higher.

Ms Gates also used her Instagram post to pay tribute to the healthcare workers who have been battling the epidemic. She commented: “Saying thank you doesn’t begin to describe my gratitude for the physicians, scientists, public health experts, pharmacists and so many others who made this achievement in modern medicine possible.

“Our healthcare workers have been working tirelessly to save as many lives as possible, and this vaccine will only increase their ability to succeed.” Ms Gates added she will continue wearing a coronavirus mask after receiving her second vaccine dose in order to protect other people.

On Sunday the British Government confirmed more than 15 million people have now received their first coronavirus vaccine in the UK. On Twitter Boris Johnson said: “We have vaccinated over 15 million people.

“This is an incredible UK-wide achievement. “Thank you to the scientists, factory workers, delivery drivers, NHS staff, volunteers and many more who made this astounding feat possible.”

The UK also reported another 258 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus.

This brought the total UK death toll from the outbreak to 177,166. Another 10,972 coronavirus cases were also recorded.
