Stephen Bear has been widely criticised after he confessed the news he was going to become a dad to twins was in fact a joke.
Ex On The Beach star Stephen, 31, shared an ultrasound photo, where two foetuses could be
seen, on his Twitter account on Monday 8 February. Writing above the image, Stephen claimed the unborn twins were in fact his as he said: “Wasn’t expecting 2 Think it’s time I should I grow up”.
Celebrity Big Brother star Stephen, who was seen breaking quarantine after claiming laws “don’t apply to him”, didn’t convince fans as many noticed the image had been ripped from Google.
One responded to Bear’s tweet with: “I literally just got the exact same photo off google, why make up lies”.
Another added: “Just when you think you can’t get any more desperate for attention!” While a third wrote: “Absolutely disgusting! Using a scan picture from google .
People out there desperate to be mums and to you this is some sort of joke.” Bear, who was recently released on bail after being arrested at Heathrow Airport, later confessed the image was taken from the search engine and he had posted it to try and “lighten everyone’s day”.
Sharing an explanation in a video posted to his YouTube page, Bear said: “Happy Monday everyone, or should I say mix it up Monday?
“I thought I’d do a little tweet, just having a laugh. I got this picture on Google, like a picture of twins, do you wanna see it? Let me show it to you,” he added while scrolling through his phone.
He continued: “I thought I’d lighten up everyone’s mood today.” He then read out his post and showed the scan image to the camera before he added: “I just feel like you can’t have jokes anymore in this society.
I don’t know if it’s just Twitter, but on YouTube everyone seems a lot more fun. “I go on Twitter and everyone’s so angry, so miserable, they’re so annoyed I’ve done a tweet pretending to have twins.
Even though I do want twins. I’m curious to see what the public would think if I did have babies.” However, those who viewed the YouTube clip were also critical of Bear in the comments section of his video.
One wrote: “It’s not a joke though Stephen, that picture belongs to a woman who is on Twitter. You can’t go around posting people’s photos ‘for a laugh’.”
Another added: “It’s not really a joke though there’s people who can’t have kids and there’s people joking about them come on this ain’t cool at all”.
As a third said: “You knew what kind of response this was going to get that’s why you posted it!!! Anything to stay relevant!! Your sick!!” But some defended Bear as one said: “He is just being himself and is trying to have a laugh! Just leave Bear alone! He is amazing and I love him so much! And also the snowball fight was the cutest thing ever!”
And a second said: “Twitter is the worst, the exact same article is posted on both FB and Twitter and the responses are usuallycompletely opposite”.
