Funk Flex and Akademiks targeted Jay-Z and Meek Mill over Roc Nation CEO’s presidential pardon

Funk Flex and Akademiks are sarcastically looking to JAY-Z and Meek Mill for answers after Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez was among the 143 pardons issued by Donald Trump on his last day in office on Tuesday (January 19).

Perez was granted a full pardon for a conspiracy to distribute narcotics conviction from over 25 years ago. In a statement to Billboard, she expressed her gratitude and highlighted her dedication to social justice reform.

“I’m grateful to have received a pardon and to have formally closed that chapter of my life in the eyes of the law,” Perez said. “I have taken full accountability for my mistakes from 25 years ago, but I

also take tremendous pride in my personal growth, perseverance and accomplishments since then. This pardon reinforces my lifelong commitment to advocate for criminal justice reform and social justice initiatives.”

After hearing the news, Akademiks hopped on Twitch to take a jab at his foe Meek, accusing Perez of being a snitch for cooperating.

“Roc Nation CEO and federal cooperator who took down a cartel, Desiree Perez, also known as Meek Mill’s boss and JAY-Z’s hired CEO – she has been granted clemency, granted a pardon by Donald Trump for her diligent work in snitching,” Ak began. “Jesus Christ! It will be marked from the record that she was ever convicted of any crime to do with narcotics, which also will write away the record that she also cooperated. Ain’t that a prison reform! I would like to hear Meek Mill’s opinion on this. I would like to hear what he thinks because he’s involved in prison reform.”

Flex also had some words on Instagram, and promised to go in further when he hits the airwaves on New York’s Hot 97 at Wednesday night (January 20).

Flex has had his own issues with Hov for some time, and just last week took a shot at him during an Instagram Live with Gillie Da Kid and Wallo’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.

“You know why he can’t be on social media?” he said. “Because he’s the most sensitive muthafucka on the planet and he can’t take n-ggas in his comments telling him the truth. He can’t take it. He can’t open up social media. You know what Jay does? He watches social media from a fake page. I’m giving you the truth.”

Other prominent names pardoned by Trump include Lil Wayne, Kodak Black and early Death Row Records backer Michael “Harry-O” Harris.
