Princess Sofia shows her injury whiles the Spanish Royal were out to support her

The Espanola’s Infanta Sofia sparked concerns among royal fans after pictures showed her with an injured leg during a trip with parents Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI, and sister Princess Leonor.

The Spanish Royal Family visited the birthplace of XVIII century Spanish friar of Franciscan Order Junipero Serra in Petra, Mallorca. The tour was part of the family’s summer vacation on the Balearic Islands.

But Infanta Sofia sparked concerns on social media as she was seen using a crutch to walk.

The young royal’s knee was bandaged, prompting royal fans’ questions over how she got injured.

One Twitter user asked: “What happened to Infanta Sofia’s leg?”.

In response to the previous comment, another user added: “Was wondering the same thing. Hope she’s alright!”

A third user just added: “Poor thing!”

Someone else claimed that”she hurt it somehow and had 5 stitches. That is all I can find out.”

Princess Leonor, helped her sister as they walked on the cobbled streets of Mallorca.

The family are currently staying at the Marivent Palace in Mallorca. They were seen exploring antiquities at the priest’s birthplace as well as the museum and convent of Fray Junípero Serra in Petra.

The family also visited the last place where Pare Serra is said to have preached at before travelling to America, Santuari de la Mare de DĂ©u de Bonay.

Local residents joined the family as they walked through the town to take photographs of them.

Former King Juan Carlos recently announced his intentions to leave Spain following a corruption scandal. On Monday, he explained that he had taken the decision to leave the country in order to help his son, the current King Felipe VI, “exercise his responsibilities”.

But sources argued it was Felipe who sent his father away to save his family from “certain happenings” regarding his father’s scandal with his German mistress Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein.

It has been alleged the former monarch is currently staying at a ÂŁ10k-a-night suite at a luxury Abu Dhabi hotel following his sudden departure.

Ms Sayn-Wittgenstein has been placed under investigation regarding some audio tapes of a meeting between herself and retired Spanish police commissioner José Manuel Villarejo at her home in 2015.

In the recordings, she reportedly said Juan Carlos cashed in a secret compensation for his role in securing a ÂŁ5.5 billion Saudi rail deal.

Mr Villarejo requested a meeting under the excuse that Spain’s intelligence services were trying to implicate her in criminal activity and leaked the recordings to media outlets.
